[Personality]

One thing a swordsman always has to hold close to him is his pride, acknowledging all of his great accomplishments and that there can be no one better. This is what Squalo's all about, his pride for his sword and the lengths he will go to achieve what he needs to to prove it to anyone. He will go to any lengths for his pride, even cutting off his own hand at the age of fourteen just to be on equal footing with the current Sword Emperor. He won't ask for help from anyone as a result of it as well, even when it means his own death he would rather face defeat with his pride intact than take pity from an enemy. If he's going to die then he's going to die in battle with no doubts that his sword was swinging until his last breath. With this comes stubbornness, sometimes to the point of being completely irrational and unwilling to listen to anyone's opinion that happens to conflict with his own. He trusts very few people and in most occasions holds his own intuition above anything that others may tell him. And if he turns out wrong, he'll face the consequences head on.

Right below his pride, and sometimes even above it, is how loyal Squalo is to those he's close to. Once someone gains his loyalty, they have it for life unless they do something severe to break it. And it would have to be very severe considering what he puts up with from Xanxus. That can really serve as the main base for how deep his loyalty can lie. He swore his loyalty to Xanxus as a young boy, even when it was irrational at the time he relied on his instincts that he wanted to follow this man just from one look into his eyes. He made a promise to grow out his hair until Xanxus's goal was reached, and even knowing that goal was impossible from the start continued to grow it out for eighteen years and counting. Not only does it prove what lengths he'll go for loyalty but also his dedication when he says he'll do something. Even with constant verbal and physical abuse, his loyalty and devotion never once waivers. Not just with Xanxus, though that's the main case, but to all of Varia and by extension a few others who manage to get on his good side. Squalo would never say a word about their secrets, keeping facts hidden unless it was in their own best interest to reveal them. He would kill for those close to him, and even die for them without a moment's hesitance.

Squalo didn't get the title of Sword Emperor for nothing, he loves a good fight and delights in tearing his enemy to shreds with his blade. Especially if they're a swordsman. He prides himself on killing and defeating most known sword styles and even brags about those he's killed. As a member of the special assassination squad Varia, it's natural that he be an ace killer with no regrets. He was raised in a mafia environment, even going to a private school that was specifically reserved for children from the mafia, so the death of others had never been a problem for him. Even cutting off his own hand was done without a single second thought, showing that his mind is far from what one would consider normal. He washes away every trace of his enemies like the rain clearing out the bloody mess and enjoys every minute of it. He's not just a ruthless killer though, he's a very calculated one and a dedicated leader. The fact that he's not only second in command of the Varia but also the strategy captain shows his talent for handing out orders and fixing up battle plans for large scale operations.

Probably the most noticeable feature of him however is his anger problems. Not quite as bad as his boss but definitely more noticeable as Squalo was listed as the number one loudest mafia member in the world. When his anger hits, it explodes. Though it's only on occasion that he reacts with violence he's always screaming at the top of his lungs for whatever reason if someone sets him off. This is usually over minor things, just little day to day conversation topics that can throw him off the handle. In contrast, during serious situations or fights he's rather calm and level headed as necessary and rarely loses his temper unless the situation gets out of his control. This doesn't mean quiet however. Nothing is ever quiet with Squalo as most of the time he doesn't realize what the meaning of indoor voice is if it's not a serious situation. In his later years he seems to have calmed somewhat from what he once was, but only by a just noticeable fraction.

When it comes to patience, it's usually a hit and miss with Squalo. During a fight he has in in abundance. Dealing with Xanxus throwing a fit? That's usually debatable at best. He'll get annoyed at first and try to approach a situation without much of a fuss but if it gets to the point of just pure ridiculousness he'll explode. Such as was a situation when he was in the middle of a serious mission and Xanxus kept beating up their grunts for not getting him the type of meat he wanted, and then having that meat fall on the floor and throwing an even bigger fit about it. On the other hand, when it comes to things like training Yamamoto Squalo is able to contain most of his anger and channel it into his fighting skills. Despite what people might thing, He's actually a rather successful teacher and even went as far as to make 101 DVDs training videos showing him defeating swordsmen in his quest to become the new official Sword Emperor. He's also very sharp, able to see through illusions without much effort no matter how powerful they are. He actually becomes enraged when Yamamoto loses a fight to a swordsman illusionist that Squalo himself fought, hitch hiking all the way from Italy to Japan to personally continue his training. After beating the shit out of him and knocking him out.

[Abilities]
Artificial Arm Sword: Squalo cut off his own left hand and replaced it with this sword. The artificial arm sword is able to extend and turn 180 degrees backwards.

Grande Pioggia Squalo (Heavy Rain Shark): Squalo's Box Weapon, which resembles a great white Shark and is powerful enough to defeat enemies on its own. He nicknamed it Alo.

Attacco di Squalo (Attack of the Shark): A shockwave attack which turns a powerful blow into an oscillating wave that rings throughout the opponent's body, paralyzing them for a short period of time.

Zanna di Squalo (Fang of the Shark): Squalo thrusts his sword forward multiple times. Basil states that it was "chewing away at the air in front of him".

Scontro di Squalo (Charge of the Shark): Squalo slices diagonally in front of him, tearing away the water as he charges forward.

[Sample post]
[First Person]

- If you could go back home, would you? Why or why not?
Not without Xanxus, if he stays here then so do I.

- If someone provoked or attacked you, what would you do?
Voi! They wouldn't last ten seconds against me! I'd cut them down if they were worth raising my sword against, have them destroyed by my Rain Shark if they're a waste of time.

- Someone comes to you to ask for the time. How would you respond?
Voi, what kind of a question is that? It's not my job to tell them the damn time, they can find out on their own. Mostly, depends on what bastard is asking me.

- Someone is trying to rob you! What do you do?
Ha! I'd like to see someone try it, it'll be the last thing they ever do.

- If I offered to save your soul for a price, would you go with it and why?
Voi! I don't need my soul to be saved, I do what I want with it and saving implies I actually have regrets.

- Do you stand up against authority, go against all odds, and if you could, pierce the heavens with your fighting spirit? If not, would you if you could?
Of course I do! Voi! Who the hell do you think you're talking to? There's only one authority I bow down to, nothing else can stop me!

- Would you consider yourself a hero or a villain? Why? Neither is an option as well, but still tell why.
Hero and villain are matters of perception, nothing is ever black or white and anyone who claims to be one or the other doesn't know jack shit and has too many delusions of themselves and the world to be taken seriously.

- Your country is in the middle of a war. What do you think of it? Do you support it or try to solve it yourself by going on an epic quest? Explain.
Tch. What the hell do you know about war? There's no such thing as solving something yourself, you make a battle plan with your group and execute it, making sure to tie up all loose ends. You fight for what you believe in and for yourself, and you do so until you die. It's not what I would do, it's what I've already done.

- You are on the verge of death. You know there is no way to survive and there's no coming back. Choose any of the following to answer: What is your last wish? Your last regret? Last thoughts? How do you feel? Who is the last person you think of other than your killer?
I'd think of Xanxus and how I've failed him, feeling ashamed of myself for being so fucking weak as to be taken down so easily. My last wish would be for Varia to destroy the bastards responsible, or if there was no hope for them to get out with their lives.

[Third Person]

"VOOOIIIII!!!!!! YOU LITTLE BASTARDS HAD BETTER RUN!!!"

It was official. Squalo hated children. He already knew this before hand, they were too much trouble and were even worse when they were raised without the proper discipline. Belphegor had been bad enough as a child, but not even the prince would have dared to do what those suicidal little bastard had just pulled. Squalo's screaming continued for a good while and it was only once he was certain the stupid fucking brats were far gone did he allow himself to calm down into a simmer. One glare towards those watching made them turn and go about their business less that deafening voice be turned on them.

A hand went to his hair, wincing as sticky strands stuck to his glove and clomped together. Getting vodka out of his hair was one thing, but he didn't even have the first clue what was in that mixture the little brats poured on him. All he knew was that it was sticky, brown with black bits and parts of it were hardening fast while others were dripping down like water. If he had to take a guess it would be a mixture of oil and syrup and he was already dreading getting it out. This was going to be a nightmare, he was pretty fucking sure it was literally going to turn into a nightmare with trying to get this bullshit out. And then with his luck it would be seen and he'd never live it down, have to deal with crap from Xanxus about it and any other annoying shitstain who'd have a smart remark on how much he fussed over his hair. But they just didn't get it, none of those bastards understood and he didn't give a shit if they did or not. His hair was his life, was his bond and even if he didn't care about his image in general when it came to taking care of his hair that was another matter entirely.

Another twitch, he growled to himself as he stomped off for the nearest lake or river, preferably a waterfall if he could find one but he really wasn't holding his breath. He should probably look up some shampoo and conditioner too, but only after he got the good chunk of the mess out. It would take a while, but he had time. He hated children, he was getting too old for this shit. If it were older bastards who did it he could have just killed them and been satisfied with the blood mixed in with this unholy mess. But no, it just had to be mischievous little sons of bitches who he couldn't in good consciousness raise his sword against. For one it would leave a bad taste in his mouth to harm a defenseless child, and for two the shit he'd receive from the rest of the assholes here wouldn't be worth the headache.

He just had to take solace in the fact that he's pretty positive at least one of those kids pissed themselves in fear over not expecting him to yell like that. A grin came to his face as he could just imagine what they would have done if he would have unleashed his box weapon. While it wouldn't have done anything, threatening them with a giant flying great white shark probably would have made sure it didn't happen again. If they ever came back around, he'd have to give them a little warning before they got any other ideas in their heads.

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] I had considered him for a different game originally, but seeing as how Somarium has a KHR cast I'd like to be able to play him off of other castmates so I decided here instead. Also, I've been meaning to rejoin Somarium for a while now and this is the perfect oppurtunity.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] Staying IC because whenever someone lets their own opinions or emotions bleed over into their character it can cause problems for their CR and especially for castmates that know certain behavior would be weird for that character.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] Used to play here a long time ago.
[Any questions?]
